I've reached a turning point in my life
by B_Deserter inlast may, i finally admitted to myself that i am an atheist.
to me, being an atheist means that i don't believe any of the silly nonsense that puny humans have come up with.
many of the religions of man were started during a time when mental illnesses went undiagnosed and misunderstood, a time when man couldn't explain why lightning struck the earth or why rain fell.

::::: It wasn't a "God" or anything human beings can even comprehend. :::::
I'd say a good many human beings have been able to comprehend a great many extremely complex notions. The one thing that seems to be "incomprehensible" is "God". No one has really been able to peg that one yet. Not that I'm aware of anyway. -

This is AMAZING! Have you EVER seen anything like this?
by Gopher indutch illusionist ramana is levitating on a stick, in front of the white house.
it sounds like a simple illusion.
but before you say it's a simple trick, click on the link and watch the first few seconds of the embedded video.

A very old trick indeed and very easily explained w/many variations. However, I love it when people are baffled by this sort of thing and besides that, it's not my job to give away secrets. I also love the cones around the guy! Makes it all so authentic. Danger! Man tricking you...stay back!

I haven't been keeping up with the news and didn't realize how bad it has gotten. I've got a lot of relatives up near Castaic and down in SD. My sister was talking with her daughter in Newhall and they got cut off & hasn't heard anything back yet. So my sister is pretty worried but trying to keep calm. I've been trying to find some current info for the Newhall area especially to relay but not much luck so far. Anyone know of a GOOD site for current info?
I just talked to one of my nieces in SD and she says they seem to be out of danger but I'm sure that could change in a hurry. She didn't seem too worried but I suggested they get some things together just in case they had to get out. I know if I was in that situation I'd want minute by minute updates! -

I have found something truly horrific.
by cultswatter inthis is big, very big.
bigger that pascal petite(well, just as big), bigger than the demonic hand or the rams head in the live forever book!!.
to present this properly, i will need a scan of the page in the live forever book where the thief is running from the police clutching a bag of goods.

Interesting indeed. I hadn't seen that mentioned but it's the perfectly plausible explanation. Now then, why do they have that Ouija board thingy in their "dress-up" box? I mention that just to keep the conspiracy thing alive of course. :)

The theif looks a lot like Jerry Seinfeld. He did steal that lady's bread one time so I'm not surprised.
As to the artwork...do they have people pose for these illustrations? If so, then they would have props around that get reused also. It's just one possibility that might explain SOME of the recurring images. -

Share one or two interesting things about you we probably didn't know
by Gopher inwe have such an interesting group of people from around the world on this board.
it might be interesting to have a thread where you discuss a hobby, something interesting that happened in the past, somewhere you've been, etc.. not deep, dark confessions - just interesting stuff.. .
